The Tonquin, an american ship that was used in the merchant fur trade, was sailing up the Pacific Coast to go to trade, and was boarded by the Tlaoquiaht who killed 61 men aboard the ship and would kill more until the ship was blown up by one of the last surviving crew members. With the loss of the trade ship and 61 of its members, the Pacific Fur Company is in-danger of being attacked in the War Of 1812.
